Let face it, it is always a challenge keeping kids away from computer games and social media.

This issue only gets tougher during school holidays when they have more time on their hands.

But don’t worry – we have thought of some great ways to not only keep the kids occupied, but also doing things that will improve their health and fitness, as well as having a heap of fun along the way.

1. Splash into the pool

With the warmer weather hanging around, why not take a dip in one of our sparkling pools?

No matter how old, we have a range of wonderful aquatic facilities suitable for all ages. Whether they want to frolic in the water with friends or even swim some laps, getting into the pool is a terrific way for your kids to stay active while having a great time.

2. Get sporty, outdoors or indoors

We have two incredible sports facilities available for your kids to have a kick-around, run or shoot some hoops.

In the CBD, Cook + Phillip Park Pool has an indoor sports court, that can be hired in half hour or one hour slots. The court caters to a range of activities including; basketball, futsal, badminton, pickleball, netball, volleyball, and more!

Located in Zetland, Gunyama Park, has an outdoor, synthetic multipurpose sports field. So get your running shoes on, your friends together, and bring your soccer ball, footy, or even a frisbee for some fun in the great outdoors.

Not only does it get your kids outside, but it builds healthy habits, increases confidence, enhances coordination and emphasises the importance of teamwork.

3. Hit the gym

It's never too early to start training and getting into good healthy habits.

For the older kids, children aged 12-15 years must be supervised by an adult when visiting the gym. Children aged 16 years+ can use the gym independantly.

Chat with one of our friendly team on the gym floor for exercise tips and how to use the equipment, machines and weights safely and with confidence.

4. Become a swim instructor

For teens 16 years or older who are looking for their first job, being a swim instructor comes with some fantastic benefits.

The working hours are very flexible, every day is different and it is a role they can continue through school, university and beyond.

Best of all, we'll cover all training costs required to become a fully certified swim teacher (valued over $500).

5. Fast-track your swimming skills

If you're looking to accelerate your child’s skills and confidence in the water, the school holidays are the perfect time to do so.

Our fast-track school holiday intensives focus on taking your child’s skills to the next level, and helping them consolidate what they have already learnt.

This program is great for families who have busy schedules and cannot commit to weekly, ongoing lessons during the school term.
