More at Gunyama Park

The largest pool complex built in Sydney for more than 20 years. This beautiful, functional, and sustainably designed building is much more than an aquatics centre.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians of our land – Australia. The Gadigal people of the Eora Nation are the traditional custodians of this place we now call Sydney.

This tranquil open space is the perfect post-workout, post-lap, pre-work and early morning wake-up spot. The café has air conditioning inside as well as an alfresco terrace overlooking the sporting green, so you can keep an eye on the action. There’s not a bad seat in the house!

We encourage all our customers to bring their own reusable cups to reduce waste to landfill whenever possible.

Sustainability leader

We've designed an innovative energy co-generation system to heat and power the centre helping us reduce our carbon footprint. Solar panels on the roof connect to the City's local electricity network. This means surplus electricity will be used to power buildings in the neighbouring community and cultural precinct.

Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre is one of six world-class City leisure centres.

  • Set on Woolloomooloo Bay and offers members and guests breath-taking views of Sydney Harbour. The facility is open from 1 September - 30 April each year and boasts an 8 lane, 50m outdoor saltwater pool perfect for lap swimming, a smaller program pool and sun lounges to sit back and relax on the pool deck. The location also features a great cafe with beautiful views and wholesome food.

  • Located in the heart of Sydney CBD near St Mary’s Cathedral, Cook + Phillip Park Pool provides world-class swimming, full-sized gym, fitness classes, indoor sporting facilities, as well as an outdoor training area within a picturesque parkland setting.

  • Named in honour of five-time Gold Medal winning champion, Ian Thorpe, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre offers a range of aquatic and fitness programs for a diverse range of ages, interests, fitness levels and abilities.

The facility also offers swimming lessons for all ages, swim squad training and aqua aerobics.

  • Prince Alfred Park Pool is located in Surry Hills, and is the City’s first fully accessible heated outdoor pool that features a green roof of native grasses to regulate temperature.

The facility has a 9 lane, 50m outdoor pool and toddler splash pad.

  • Victoria Park Pool is an aquatic centre to suit the whole family. The 8 lane, 50m outdoor pool is heated all year round and the splash pool with water feature is a great spot for the kiddies to play.
